ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

Known Limitations
1. For XP OS only, WLAN entry on Device Manager for Intel (R) Wireless WiFi, radio button can be switched ON/OFF even Wireless LAN and WiMAX Radios is turn-OFF on BIOS Set-up.
Reference CMVC 95977; WXP: Dev Mgnr WL Radio can be ON/OFF even if OFF in BIOS
2. When trying to check the "Show the Windows Installer log option " checkbox in the Intel Wifi setup.exe gui, it cannot be selected or deselected

Wireless Enable/Disable in BIOS

1. From the device manager, right click the WL adapter(Ethernet Controller) then select Update Driver Software
2. On Update Driver Software window, select and click "Browse my computer for driver software"
3. On Browse for driver window, point to C:\Windows then click Next
... Searching for software status windows should be shown then Installing software status window should be shown
... After installation has been completed, Succesfull installation window should be shown
EXPECTED: The inbox driver should be installed successfully
The correct name of the adapter should be displayed on the successfull installation window
4. Click Close from the successful installation window and confirm adapter from the device manager
EXPECTED: No yellow mark should appear on the wireless adapter
5. Confirm inbox driver version from adapter"s Properties -> Driver tab
EXPECTED: Provider should be Microsoft; version should be same as with TBD

Overwrite/Update Installation

[For Intel WiFi adapters, update/overwrite installation is supported only from previous version to next version and cannot be performed for the same family set]
For eg. 14.x->14.x or 14.x.1 -> 14.x.2 is supported. However 15.1 -> 15.1 even if the build ID is different is not supported] - ECR98357

- Perform overwrite installation for the same driver version (INF installation)
- Check that the driver can be installed properly and no malfunction occurs
- Perform update installation from the previous version
- Check for the driver date and version.
- Verify the overwrite installation function by recovering preload and update the driver for all the applicable preloaded OS.

The Intel wireless adapter is listed. For example, Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN.

5. Right-click the wireless adapter.
6. ClickProperties.
7. Click theDrivertab to see the wireless adapter property sheet.
The driver version number is listed in the Driver Version field.



Verify the installed drive version and confirm that it is same as the one mentioned in the build letter.

Click on theWireless
icon on the task bar or at the bottom-right corner of your screen and selectOpenNetwork and Sharing Center.

Step 2:
On the Network and Sharing Center window, click theWireless Network Connectionoption.

TheWireless Network Connection Statuswindow willappear showing your computer?s wireless connection details. TheSpeedsection indicates the connection speed between the wireless adapter and the router.


Check if Wireless Connection Speed matches the AP
Wireless Adapter Verification on Safely Remove Hardware [UR-1409AP]

1. Make sure wireless adapter is properly inserted.
2. Recover Windows XP on system.
3. Boot to Windows XP. Install wireless adapter driver.
4. On the system tray, click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon.
5. Make sure that the Wireless Network Adapter is not present on the list of hardware devices

- Check the wireless utility picks up the nearest access point

- Leave the system for 20 minutes in idle condition.
- Verify that the system functions well without any malfunction/performance degradation.
