Objective:To verify the Access Conneciton function at the time of SIT exit

DETAILS
ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

1. W7: Wrong adapter name and speed shown in Access Connection

per EM7345 spec, 50/100M speed is as design for LTE

Working as design

Note :

  1. While doing JP coverage, verify the japanese characters, error messages and help menu contents.
  2. Verify all the supported adapters (Wireless, Modem, Network and WWAN devices).
  3. Configure atleast one printer to verify the printer selection while creating the profile.
  4. Please verify the wireless driver/Access Connection dependency. Read the build letter of Wireless driver and Access Connection and follow the steps for proper working.

Access Connections applications may have other functions/GUI not mentioned in this test case. Please verify all the available functions and GUI that comes with the particular version of Access Connections. Any updation required to the test case, Please inform Lenovo Engineer.

Installation / Uninstallation - Admin Mode

  4. Save the profiles and confirm that the profiles are created and can be applied.

  • Install Access Connection after profile creation in the earlier step.
  • Confirm to proceed installation
  • Restart the system if the system prompts for it.
  • Launch Access Connection from Start->Programs->ThinkVantage->Access Connections

Uninstallation of AC Only
  • Install Access Connections.
    1. Insert SIM Card
    2. Create several location profiles.
    3. Send and Receives SMS Messages
    4. Uninstall Access Connections from Add/Remove programs
    5. In XP, select option "Uninstall ThinkVantage Access Connections only".
    6. In Vista, a windows will prompt "Do you want to remove all the Access Connections profiles and sms messages/phonebook?". Click "No".
    7. In Windows 7, a window will prompt "Do you want to keep the Access Connections profiles and SMS messages/phone book?". Click "Yes".
    8. Confirm to proceed uninstallation
    9. Verify that the application is uninstalled properly
    10. Restart the system
    11. Install Access Connections again
    12. Launch Access Connections from Start->Programs->ThinkVantage->Access Connections
    13. Confirm that the application launches properly and ALL the profiles created earlier are available.
    14. Launch Advanced-->Tools-->SMS
    15. Confirm AC-SMS Message Box launches
    16. Confirm that ALL SMS Messages sent and received earlier are available

    With Idle Test Scenario [UR-03517AP]

    18. Connect to wifi and save the profile

    and SMS messages/phone book?" appears, leave the system idle for 5-10 minutes.

Edit Profile With Existing Profile

1. Launch Access Connections -> Switch to Advanced -> Location Profiles

2. Create any other profile with characters (*,) in Profile name

3. Pop-up message appear "The location profile name you entered is not valid. Names must not be empty and should not include *,.Enter a different name".

4. Right click on any profile and choose Rename.

5. Edit name profile with characters (*,) .

6. When editing profile the with *, character pop-up message should appear and cannot accept by Access Connections

  7. Copy this .loa file to another client system
  8. In the client system, from Access Connection->Import Location profiles, import the latest saved .loa profile. (you will be prompted to enter the passphrase again, Enter the wrong passphrase.
  9. Profile should not be imported with the wrong passphrase.
  10. Again import the profile with correct passphrase.
  11. Confirm that the profile is imported properly.
  12. Apply the imported profile.
  13. Verify this function by changing all the available User Access Policies in Step.2
  • Profile distribution package should be able to create
  • Import the profile in client system successfully
  • For wrong passphrase, profile should not be imported.
  • Applied imported profile should work fine without any problem.
