DETAILS
ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

Exporting Profile

1. Launch Access Connections from the task tray or "Start menu -> Programs -> ThinkVantage -> Access Connections".
2.Click on Advanced button
3.Click on Location Profile Tab
4.Create any wireless profile and apply it
5.Under Location Profile tab, select any profile and click Export button
6.Save the Export profile using "filename.loc".
  • Verify the profile is exported successfully.
  • No error message shall appear.
  • Export option should be grayed out if there is no profiles.
Standalone
OVERWRITING AN EXPORT PROFILE [UR-2010]1. Install and configure wireless adapter.
2. Install Access Connections as per build letter.
3. Restart the system.
4. Launch AC from start > All programs > Thinkvantage
5. On Advanced GUI > Click Location Profile > Create a profile (eg. WPA-PSK) and save the profile
6. Export the profile and save it on the desktop
7. Export the same profile again and save it with the same filename on the same location (desktop), message should appear prompting overwrite

8. Double click the saved file on the desktop, there should be no error messages

Importing Profile

1. Launch Access Connections from the task tray or "Start menu -> Programs -> ThinkVantage -> Access Connections".

3. Under Location Profile click on Import button
4. Browse the file name (e.g. "filename.loc".)
5. Apply the wireless profile and verify the connection

Importing a profile using the created profile
1. Double click the profile created (e.g. filename.loc)
2. Select any wireless profile for Access Connection
3. Connect the wireless profile

Expected: Wireless Profile should connect successfully
No error msg appears while importing a profile


Deleting Multiple profile after Import
1. Launch Access Connections from the task tray or "Start menu -> Programs -> ThinkVantage -> Access Connections".
2. Click on Advanced button
3. Under Location Profile click on Import button
4. Browse the file name (e.g. "filename.loc".)
5. Select all wireless profile
6. Delete Multiple profile and confirm all profiles are deleted
at the same time.

  • Verify that all profiles are imported successfully and imported profiles are working fine
  • No error message shall appear.
Standalone
Importing profiles created using different WLAN card (Intel WLAN cards to Atheros WLAN cards)
1. Create a Profile using WEP or WPA- PSK using first WLAN adapter (Intel)
2. Export the Profile and save it as (.loc filename)
3. On another system (or same system) with second WLAN adapter (Atheros), import the same profile (.loc filename)
4. Connect the profile and repeat
11.Repeat this step creating a profile with Atheros and importing to Intel WLAN card.

Profile LOA profile (LEAP,EAPFAST,PEAP-GTC and PEAP-GTC)
Importing LOA file Users can import the profile by Location Profiles->Import Profile menu
If profile is encrypted with password, user must input the password to successfully import the profile
WL profile can be imported in other machines regardless of the model.
After importing the profile, the LOA file is deleted automatically
If the imported profile name is same with any of the existing profiles, the existing profile will be retain the name but will have an incrementing number at the end of the name string.
In importing wireless profile, authentication keys, username and password should be inputted again.
