ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

"Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case)"

Known Limitations/Restrictions/Information
Known Limitations
1. When two Ethernet adapters are configured, TCP/IP will be obtained by OS. Even if we use IPconfig to release all the IP, then after PM, system will get the IP after searching the DHCP server. To avoid getting the IP address when we use Access Connection, select the option "Disconnect from the Network when I switch to a different location Profile".
2. When user create the profile, automatic location switching is enabled by the default for both wired and wireless adapter. The "Automatic location switching" option will not be available to select. This is working as design.
3. Windows Firewall is only available for windows XP SP2.
4. If user uncheck the connected profile in AC location profiles list the Accesspoint of that profile will not be listed in graphical view of main GUI but it will be listed in detailed view. This is working as designed.
Restriction
1. Even "Allow all users of this system to create and apply loation profiles" Global settings option check box is checked, limited user account can not modify or create the setting for TCP/IP settings or security settings of local driver share, firewall settings due to Widnows security protection. Such setting is used with Windows default settings. Default is not checked.
2. Global settings can be only modified by the user when the logon privilege is administrator privilege.
3. The global settings option "Disable Adhoc connection type option in wireless LAN profiles" is not applicable, if the user create the profile using WIndows wireless LAN property window.
4. If user will ping or tracert in Access Connections Diagnostic Ping, information will be in English even if the OS is other than English. This is as designed as per AC 5.10 Specs Addendum (Doc. # AC510-2-008). Ref CMVC #102986: XPJP: Ping, traceroute, more information are in English text
Information
1. When "Allow all users of this system to create and apply loation profiles" check box is checked, it allows user to create the location profiles and enables location switching regardless of the windows logon privilege (administrator or limited users).
2. Wireless profiles will be listed in the upper part of the profile list and the Ethernet profiles will be displayed at the lower part of the location profile list on "Automatic switching profile priority window". Due to the faster speed, the Ethernet profiles have higher priority than the wireless profiles.
3. When "Allow wireless radios to be turned off when inactive" is checked, the connected NDIS(CDMA) should not be disconnected after 3-4mins.
Reference Defect: ECR82978, FT:W7:NDIS connection disconnect if check Allow WL radio to be off opt

(Functionality can be verifieid in user mode only)
- By enabling this option, verify that the users(in limited usermode) will be able to create/apply location profiles.
- If this option is not selected, verify that the limited users are not able to create/apply the location profiles.
Security Issue [UR-1785DS]
1)Installed Preload
2)Logged in as Admin user
3)Installed Access Connection
4)Created a profile in AC and check "Allow windows users with admin ..... to create and modify profiles".

7)Clicked on "Help me fix this" and click "Save As"
8)Browsed to C:WindowsSystem32 and click on cmd.exe
Once command prompt is launched check whether the limited user can access any data on the system.

Note:
When "Allow Windows users without administrator privileges to create and apply loation profiles " check box is checked, it allows user to create the location profiles and enables location switching regardless of the windows logon privilege (administrator or limited users).
Even this check box is checked, limited user account can not modify or create the setting for TCP/IP settings or security settings of local driver share, firewall settings due to Widnows security protection. Such setting is used with Windows default settings. Default is not checked.

Allow wireless connection at Windows logon (requires system restart)

- Check the option and restart the system.
- Verify that the SSO profiles with "Use Windows User Name and Password" options enabled are working as expected.

UR-1784DS
1. Join the test system to Windows 2000/2003 domain which has PEAP/TLS, LEAP or TTLS through ethernet and restart.
2. Launch Access Connections from the task tray or "Start menu -> Programs -> ThinkVantage -> Access Connections". Connect to a Profile such as PEAP, LEAP or TTLS
3. Enable SSO in AC by checking "Allow wireless connection at windows logon". Change the wireless security setting to connect using windows logon username and password.
4. Reboot the machine and logon using UPN credentials (eg: username@domainname.com)
5. Now log off and connect provide the username not in UPN format and select the domain name from drop down menu.

Note: CET CMVC Update Request

Note:
For Intel MiniPCI adapters:

A (LEAP/PEAP/EAPTTLS) profile using "Use Windows logon username and password" option disconnects upon logging as a different windows user (a user who does not have LEAP/PEAP/EAPTTLS domain account), because of HALF-AUTHENTICATION.

HALF-AUTHENTICATION is INTEL"s design/concept of making sure that a user-context 1xConfig.exe (INTEL component) can respond to RADIUS server"s re-authentication request for LEAP/EAP-TLS (if server is configured for session-timeout).

When a user logs-in, QCTray.Exe performs HALF_AUTHENTICATION using the available credentials. Since in this case, new windows user is not known to RADIUS server, connection breaks because of the HALF_AUTHENTICATION request.

For Atheros MiniPCI adapters:

A (LEAP/PEAP/EAPTTLS) profile using "Use Windows logon username and password" option is still connected upon logging as a different windows user (a user who does not have LEAP/PEAP/EAPTTLS domain account).

Atheros does not have the concept of HALF-AUTHENTICATION, this behaviour is not observed on Atheros adapters.
