ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

THIS TEST CAN BE RUN USING ATS IN UNATTENDED MODE. PERFORM THIS TEST USING AFTER OFFICE HOURS AND DURING WEEKEND FOR ALL THE SUPPORTED ADAPTERS.

IF ANY PROBLEM IS FOUND, CHECK THAT PROFILE/ROAMING COMBINATION MANUALLY.

How to access:

  1. Add the information below in the HOST file found in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
    1. 203.125.96.21 atsadminconsole
  2. Open Internet Explorer and type http://atsadminconsole/
  3. Enter User Name : networkteam and Password: Test.1234

Installer:
  • For Windows XP, the user needs to install Power Shell manually. The setup file can be found at the following location;
  • Windows Powershell is found by default in Windows Vista and Windows 7

Scripts:
1. Go to Test scripts -> Explorer -> Network -> Access Connections

  • ProfileSwitchDevicePM.ps1
  • ProfileSwitchPM.ps1
  • ProfileSwitchSeqRandom.ps1

2. Clicking on a script, shows the details about the script in the right pane.
4. Right click on the script and select ‘Import from server’ to save the script to your local system.


Procedure to run the script:
1. Download the script from server to local system (HDD or pen drive)
2. A zip file will be downloaded. Extract the zip file.
3. Run the Set Execution Policy_Unrestricted.bat file present at ATS Sys Files as administrator
4. Without changing the location of files, Right click the .ps1 file and run as powershell.
5. The log report will be generated at same path from where the script is run

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY FOR KNOWN LIMITATIONS/ISSUES BEFORE RUNNING THE SCRIPTS

Requirements Before Running or Using the Test Scripts (WXP)

- Access Connection 4.x application, necessary Wireless driver and ATS 3.0 should be installed as per instruction from respective build letters
- All profiles to be tested should be already created (Ethernet/Wireless/Modem Profiles)
- Network cable should be connected to the system
- “Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby” option should be unchecked from Power Options Properties – Advanced Tab
- Do not disturb the system when the system is on execution . Make sure no automatic popup window (like antivirus) appears
except system/ATS generated popups
- User popups are controlled by ATS . No user intervention is required unless requested by the system
- Modem profile name should be "Modem" (case sensitive) in Access Connections
- The Modem dialup title should have "Connect Dial-up Connection" which is the default title

Procedure to Run the test

1.Copy the above 3 following files (htm , txt and vbs) to your HDD (i.e. c:\)
2.Launch ATS
3.On the Left Pane of the Main window , expand the Scripts folder then the Network sub folder
4.Under Network sub folder, click Network 2nd sub folder to be highlighted and should remain highlighted to be able to import the script
5.Click File from the Menu, then select Import. Open window will be launched.
6.On Open window, select the AC_Profile_Switch_Seq_Rand_Test(PA)NW01.vbs, then click the Open button to start import process
7.After the script has been imported, presss F5 and it will become accessible from Main window’s Left Pane under Scripts -> Network -> Network folder
8.Highlight the script then click the Run option available on top of the Main window next to the Menu
9.Click OK button from the pop up window to start the test.
10. In the next popup , provide the value (e.g. 5 ) for the number of times , the profile switch has to happen
11.In the next popup , select "Yes" for test to run in "All Combination" mode and "No" to run the script in "Sequential mode"
(Run the "Sequential mode" test first and after completion , run the "All Combination" test)
12.Wait until the test process is completed.
13.After the test process, a html log file will be created at c:\automation\logs\

Profile switching should take place in the sequence mentioned above.

1. All the above profiles verification with CSS installed (with saved user name and password)
2. All the above profiles with Suspend and Resume (in all combinations) - Criteria : Profiles should connect after PM
3. All the above profiles with Hibernation and Resume (in all combinations) - Criteria : Profiles should connect after PM
4. All the above test with system restart - Criteria : Profiles should connect after system restart
