DETAILS
ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

Known Limitations
1. SIM PIN window will stay for around 15 seconds after inputting the correct PIN code. Happens in any instance the user needs to input the PIN code. (Temporary Limitation)
References: ECR111363, ECR116458, XP: PIN window pop-up takes time to be appeared when Enable/disable SIM Sercurity

2. Win 7 UI profile is displayed as "Unknown" after connecting in Access Connections in AT&T network. (Permanent Limitation)
Reference: ECR114765, FT:W7:Gobi 4K AT&T shows Device Unknown in Win Native(FR:80%)

3. Using AT&T LTE SIM cards provisioned with phone phone numbers, MSISDN information is not displayed in Access Connections. Only N/A is shown. (Permanent Limitation)
Reference: ECR113942, FT:ALL: Gobi 4K shows MSISDN as NA in AC Connection Status Window

4. The WWAN LED blinks every 4-5 seconds with radio on and when searching or registered to the network. (Permanent Limitation)
References: ECR107962, ECR101913, ECR101908, All:Gobi4000 LED always flicker no matter WWAN radio on/off.

5. Error is prompted when "Query Modem" in Diagnostics tab is clicked a number of times. It appears that the device manager is having trouble detecting the AT port after the 1st query or if there"s a sudden device removable.
Further investigation shows that when the ATI commands performed when clicking Query Modem is issued through the Hyperterminal, the modem responds successfully. Thus, only the Microsoft Device Manager exhibits the problem.
And based on Sierra"s investigation, they had no issue connecting to the AT port using any terminal programs. The issue only happens with Microsoft Device Manager.
Hence Sierra concluded this is not a Sierra issue, but rather a Microsoft issue. (As Designed)
References: ECR98392, ECR101228, ECR101962, ECR111609, ECR108560 Error Message pop up when click Query Modem more than once in DM

6. Tower icon on AC GUI displays the Provider Name twice with Swisscom and NTT Docomo SIM. (Temporary Limitation)
Reference: ECR108831, FT XP: Provider name"NTT DOCOMO" show twice on Tower

7. Signal Strength of wireless refresh slowly in Accessconnections wireless connections status window (Temporary Limitation)
Reference: ECR108762, ECR108699, FT All: Signal Strength of wireless refresh slowly in AC

8. PIN Window not prompting when switching to Mobile Broadband tab (Temporary Limitation)
Reference: ECR110547, ECR113809, W7:AC:SIM Pin Security does not pop-up in AC Main GUI

9. T-Mobile tower has no carrier details when hover mouse. (Temporary Limitation)
ECR111635, WXP:AC:Operator Name is blank in GUI when connctd w/Gobi3K/4K

10. Ericsson WWAN service type show None after disconnect profile
ECR112855, W7: Ericsson WWAN service type show None after disconnect profile
11. Ericsson WWAN device will be hidden in Windows XP and Vista when disabled in Device Manager. This is working as designed and the behavior is expected. (Reference:ECR83338 and ECR82503)
Restriction
Information
1. Admin pop-up is not displayed when Gobi3000 driver package is uninstalled in user mode. This is already approved as Help Center Info (ECR86988)
Reference ECR113554, No dialog box pop up to stop GOBI3000 driver uninstall in standard use.
2. Access Connections is displayed as "Unknown" after switch connection from Verizon LTE to EVDO.
Reference ECR115601 FT:Gobi 4K Verizon EVDO shows operator name as "Unknown"
3. Ericsson WWAN profile will automatically connect without entering the SIM PIN after restart. This is expected since Ericsson WWAN was not turned off while the system is restarting/rebooting.
Pin Security takes effective if Device is turned OFF and ON. If you need the SIM security in Restart, then make sure the system BIOS Turn device off and ON in Restart.
That is the reason you don?t see it in S3/S4/S5 because in these case Device is turned OFF and ON.

In Win7, our drivers supported F35 F36, F55, F53 F35 and F36 did not had support of Soft OFF , Hence from host Driver / Software we do not send Soft OFF command to Device because we don?t know if Power cycle will happen or not by the BIOS.

And if F35 / F36 devices get OFF command they will never boot unless power cycled.

Event Viewer confirmation
Procedure Expected Result [mention for each OS].
1. Install the EventViewer tool in the system before performing the function test, please refer in the user guide on how to install.
