ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

1. OnSignalStateChange event which will be notified by the driver the signal change in network, Once we receive OnSignalStateChange event Accessconnections wrapper will notify UI modules about the signal change, in this case wrapper did not receive OnSignalStateChange from the driver hence GUI modules was not updated the same info.

Manually creating a WWAN profile:

-On Access Connections Main GUI, click on the Manage icon on the toolbar.

-Manage Location Profiles window would appear. Click on the Create button.

-Create New Profile window would appear. Enter the desired profile name for Name of location profile. Select Wireless WAN from the drop-down list box for Type of Network Connection.

-Click Next.

- Select ‘Connect to HSDPA/GPRS network using Access Connections’ radio button.

-On Select WAN Settings, choose Automatic Settings or Custom settings from the list.

-When Custom Settings is selected, click on Edit Settings button. Select the service provider from the list of ‘Known WAN service provider Settings’.

-In case provider is not on the list, select Other for ‘Known WAN service provider Settings’. Enter the carrier details for the following: Custom service provider name; APN (Access Point Name); User name; Password; Authentication option*.

-Click Next.

-Select any additional settings you want to configure for your profile.

-Click Finish.

-Connect the created profile by selecting it from the Locations drop-down list box.

*You can obtain the carrier details from your service provider.

- Confirm profile was successfully created.

- Confirm profile was successfully connected.

- Confirm no application error occurs.

- Confirm that the connection information is correct (e.g. Signal Strength, IP address, Connection Status).

Launch Access Connections from Start -> Programs ->ThinkVantage -> Access Connections

-Boot system with the WWAN driver and active SIM.

-Install the latest driver for WWAN, then reboot system.

-Install the latest Access Connections, then reboot system.

-Launch Access Connections Advanced GUI.

-Connect to AT&T, and make sure connection is successful.

-Disconnect, then go to Location Profiles-->Create

-Input location profile name

-Choose network connection as mobile broadband.

Confirm the WWAN connection to service provider

Turn Off Wireless Radio using hardware switch present in your system.

Confirm the WWAN profile is disconnected

Turn ON the wireless radio using hardware switch present in your system.

From Access Connection, Select WAN profile and press Connect

Confirm that the profile is successfully connected.

- Radio ON/OFF should work correctly

- Profile to be connected successfully after Turn ON/OFF.

Profile Connectivity with Hotkey & Software Switch [applicable only for the systems where HW switch is NOT supported] - UR2573 / UR-3867AP

7. WWAN should NOT connect to internet since the WWAN radio is OFF

8. Repeat procedure 5 - 8 with Hibernate/Shutdown/Restart

2. In Wireless Radios window > Individual Control section, turn ON the WWAN radio

3. From Access Connection, Select WAN profile and press Connect

7. WWAN should CONNECT to internet since the WWAN radio is ON (Note: Make sure that auto reconnect is enabled)

8. Repeat procedure 5 - 8 with Hibernate/Shutdown/Restart

From Access Connection, Select WAN profile and press Connect

Confirm that the profile is successfully connected.

Mobile Broadband Connection with Roaming SIM [UR-03514AP]

1. Launch AC and connect to default Vodafone Roaming profile(Any roaming sim is ok)

2. Mobile Broadband should connect successfully

3. GO to Tools> Location Switching

4. In "When no other connection..", Select Vodafone Roaming profile

5. Disconnect the profile, AC should disconnect success fully

6. In Location Profiles, Uncheck the Vodafone roaming profile

7. Restart the machine

8. After resume, AC should not attempt or connect to WWAN profile since it is disabled before Restart

5. While EVDO profile is connected, select the UMTS profile and connect to network/simulator.

Switching from EVDO to UMTS and vice versa with PM

1. Create WWAN two WWAN profiles. One using EVDO network and the other using UMTS network.

2. Install Latest Access Connection reboot the system.

3. Launch Access Connections.

4. Connect EVDO profile to network/simulator. Confirm EVDO profile connects successfully.

5. Suspend the system. Resume after 1 minute.

6. EVDO profile should be disconnected.

7. Select the UMTS profile and connect to network/simulator. Confirm profile connects successfully.

8. Suspend the system. Resume after 1 minute.

9. UMTS profile should be disconnected.

10. Repeat steps 3 - 9 for 10 times.

11. Perform Hibernate, Restart, Shutdown scenarios on step 5 and 8 then repeat steps 3 - 9 for 10 times.

Note: If SIM PIN Security is enabled, Enter PIN window always appears after switching from EVDO to UMTS and vice versa.

Connect the HSPA Mobile Broadband profile in Access Connections.

During connection attempt, once SIM was detected as not Activated, the following prompt would appear: The SIM is not yet activated, do you wish to activate it now?

Click Yes button.

With SIM card already ‘Activated’:

For XP: Go to Tools menu >> Wireless Wide Area Network >> Account Information option. For Windows Vista: Go to Advanced view >> Tools tab >> Mobile Broadband >> Account Information option.

On Wireless WAN Account Information window, click on Sign-up and Support button.

Lenovo Mobile Broadband Connect would launch.

*Free trial period depends on each carrier. Please consult the service provider for free trial information.

Step 3> Ensure that the satelitte fix is obtained as per the criteria mentioned above.

Step 4> Once we get the smooth satelitte fix, confirm the current location is in Google Map, and then start moving in a car / train with the speed of 50Km or above.

Step 5 > Real time tracking started, make sure no jump is seen.

Navigation needs to be monitored for 20minutes.

Need to test this function using :

1. Bing Maps

2. Google Maps

Also using any of the following Navigation application

- Google

- Super Maple [in Japan]

- MS Autostreet [US / Europe]

- Popular application in the place of testing like Taiwan / China / Singapore / Phillipines.

This navigation test needs to be tested by using car / high speed train.

IMPORTANT :

If your test results are not meeting the criteria, inform full details to Yamato team before opening the defect. Yamato NW team will confirm with the development and defect should be opened based on Yamato NW team's advise.

  • Tracking on the map should be smooth, and no jump on the map.
  • The navigation pointer should move smoothly without any stuck or no noticable jump.
  • Mention the No.of Sateillite in View and No. of satelitte fix got.
