DETAILS
ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

STOP USING REALVNC VIEWER & KVM.BAT FILE"

We 've received Intel KVM Control application for AMT 6.0 client.
This is a sample KVM viewer application that make use of Real VNC SDK and the KVMLib
INTEL recommended to use sample KVM application.

Please follow the Configuring procedure below for AMT client and Mgmt Console system.

AMT client 6. 0 Provisioning ( IP address: 192.168.11.23 )
  • Provisioning AMT 6.0 client system either in SMB mode or Enterprise mode
  • Enter MEBX --> Intel AMT Configuration -> KVM Configuration -> "Enable" KVM Feature Selection
  • User Opt-in --> "Enable" User Consent is required for KVM session
  • Opt-in Configuration from remote IT --> Enable Remote Control of KVM Opt-In Policy
  • Save the settings & exit from MEBX.


Management Console System
  • Copy the KVM application package to the desktop
  • Run the "KVMControlApplication" from the package, KVM Console GUI appears
  • Check " Edit Machine Settings", Key the AMT client IP Address as 192.168.11.23.
  • Key the Username as "admin" and Password as "iAMT-6.0" ( AMT client MEBX Username / Password)
  • Click "Machine Settings" in KVM Console GUI, " Remote Machine Details GUI" appears
  • Set the KVM Status to "Enabled - redirection ports"
  • Key the RFB Password as "iAMT-6.0", click OK to close the GUI
  • In the KVM Console, check " Start KVM Session on Redirection Ports" and click "Start Session"
  • Passcode prompt in Remote session appears in Mgmt Console system (Passcode will be generated in Client system)

Activating KVM in AMT 6.0 system:
  • Provisioning AMT 6.0 client system either in SMB mode or Enterprise mode

  • Prepare sysem for Mgmt Console, if the OS is XP, need to install the WinRM
WinRM can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=845289ca-16cc-4c73-8934-dd46b5ed1d33&displaylang=en

Note: Incase of Vista / Win 7, no need to install Remote Mgmt application, since by default it as WinRM.
  • Download and install VNC viewer (not the server) to the Mgmt system.
  • Connect both the AMT test system and Mgmt system to the DHCP network, try to ping each other.
  • In Mgmt Console system, open the cmd prompt, navigate to "Enb_KVM.BAT" , and run following command as
ex.. C:>Enb_KVM 10.10.10.62:16992/wsman admin iAMT-6.0
10.10.10.62===>AMT client IP address.
  • No error message should appear in the cmd prompt..
  • Launch VNC viewer, key the AMT client IP address, click ok, when it ask for password, key " Admin!98 "
  • User Consent Code: XXXXXX will appear in AMT 6.0 client system and type the same code in Mgmt Console system (three wrong attempt can be made)
  • Use Consent Code can be disable in AMT 6.0 client system in MEBX, User Opt-in --> "Disable" User Consent is required for KVM session
  • KVM session can be stopped from either system using Shift+Esc key in IMSS
1. Establish KVM connection with Ethernet,
2. From the management system, restart the AMT system using KVM.

3. Notice that the Entire reboot process will be shown on the management system

4. Press F1 on Management system when AMT system is booting up, notice that it will not bring AMT system into BIOS.

5. Restart again and manually press F1 button on AMT System to enter BIOS.

6. Notice that the keyboard on Management system should work properly when AMT system is in BIOS
  • All the information should be shown correctly with KVM
  • 1. Establish KVM connection with Ethernet Connection
    2. Reboot the AMT client system using KVM.

    3. At the windows log in screen Press Caps Lock from Management system.
    • Caps Lock ON warning should appear in AMT client system
    1. Establish KVM Connection with Wireless
    2. From the management system, restart the AMT system using KVM.

    3. Watch for the KVM connection status
  • KVM Connection should not be disconnected before system restart occur.
  • 1. Establish KVM connection with Ethernet / Wireless Connection
    2. Leave KVM Connection idle for 3-5 minutes.
    3. Watch for the connection status.
    • No disconnection if the system is in idle state.
    1. Establish KVM connection with Ethernet / Wireless Connection
    2. Leave KVM Connection idle for 3-5 minutes, and observe the AMT client system.

    3. Watch for the display status
  • No system malfunction / unnecessary symptomps like display related if the system is left in idle state.
  • 1. Establish KVM connection with Ethernet / Wireless Connection
    2. Perform Suspend in the client system
    3. KVM connection will disconnect
    4. Resume the client system from suspend
    5. New passcode will pop up.. Enter the passcode and confirm the KVM connectivity
    • Successful KVM connection after suspend/resume operation
    1. Establish KVM connection with Ethernet / Wireless Connection
    2. Perform Hibernate in the client system
    3. KVM connection will disconnect
    4. Resume the client system from Hibernate
    5. New passcode will pop up.. Enter the passcode and confirm the KVM connectivity
    • Successful KVM connection after Hibernate/resume operation
