ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

  • 1x1 WLAN cards connected with 802.11n max speed is 150 Mbps while 802.11ac has a max speed of 433 Mbps
  • 2x2 WLAN cards connected with 802.11n max speed is 300 Mbps while 802.11ac has a max speed of 867 Mbps
  • 3x3 WLAN cards connected with 802.11n max speed is 450 Mbps while 802.11ac has a max speed of 1.3 Gbps

Reason:
Maximum speed of the WLAN is based on the WLAN configuration( e.g 1x1, 2x2, 3x3) and AP types (e.g 802.11n, 802.11ac)


Note : Installation to be verified on all Systems even if the test is shared amongst the products.

2. Check if the driver version of Broadcom WLAN is the same with the one mentioned in the build letter.
3. Open Device Manager > Network Adapter > double-click the WLAN device to Open its Properties.
4. Click on the Driver tab.
5. Check that the version is the same with information stated on the build letter.

For Intel:
1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2. Check if the version of Intel WLAN is the same with the version in Other Information section of build letter.
3. Open Device Manager > Network Adapter > double-click the WLAN device to open its Properties.
4. Click on the Driver tab.
5. Check that the version is the same with information stated on the Product Data section of the build letter.

Broadcom and Intel has different behavior in displaying the driver version.
  • For Broadcom, the driver version in the build letter should be reflected in the Programs and Features and also with the Properties of WLAN device in Device Manager.
  • For Intel, install shield version should be displayed in the Programs and Features.
  • For Intel, driver version in the build letter is reflected in the Properties window of WLAN device in Device Manager.
Radio On/OFF- Power off Wireless radio
- Confirm that the wireless utiltiy shows radio off
- Power ON wireless radio
- Check the wireless utility picks up the nearest access point
Enable IR and Bluetooth
- Confirm that all wireless, bluetooth and IR are power ON
- Leave the system for 20 minutes in idle condition.
- Verify that the system functions well without any malfunction/performance degradation.
Standalone
Bluetooth and WLAN Integration - UR4022AP

Checking the wireless connection speed of your computer
1. In the Desktop, right-click the wireless adaptericon located at the bottom-right corner of the Desktop screen, then clickOpen Network and Sharing Center.
2. On theNetwork and Sharing Center, click theWi-Ficonnection.

NOTE: TheWi-Fi Statuswindow will appear showing your computers wireless connection details. TheSpeedsection indicates the connection speed between the wireless adapter and the router.

- Press Fn+F5 and confirm that the radio control utility does not pop-up
Menu Verification

- Press Fn+F5, select Fn+F5 settings option,
- Confirm that all the options are shown both in user mode and admin mode.
- Select the option "Show a menu that allows me to control power settings for wireless radios in my system".
- Enable subselection item "Allow selection of location profiles with Fn+F5 On Screen Display menu"
- Close Fn+F5.
- Press Fn+F5. Confirm that two tabs appear (Wireless radio and Location profiles)
- Select Location Profiles and select any wireless Profile and apply.
- Confirm that the profile can be connected
- Now unselect the option "Allow selection of location profiles with Fn+F5 on Screen Display menu"

- Press Fn+F5 to launch the utility.

- Click on Settings button
- Select "Alternate between turning all wireless radios off and turning all radios on"
- Press OK and then close the utility
- Note : With this Fn+F5 key will work as toggle switch
- Check the wireless radio status...It should be ON
- Press Fn+F5
- Now the utility will pop with the message
"all wireless radios have been turned off"
- Press Close button
- Press Fn+F5
- Now the wireless radio will be turned on with the message
- "All wireless radios have been turn on"
- Repeat this step pressing Fn+F5 20 times and confirm that it works as toggle switch properly.
Settings for Windows 7

- Click on Settings button
- Select "Alternate between turning all wireless radios off and turning all radios on"
- Press OK and then close the utility
