ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

1. IPT software is not applicable to WinXP 64-bit. It"s by designed. Reference Defect, ECR94178 XP64:Cant install IPT. [UR-01335WT]








For all the products supporting ME version 4.xx, Ctrl +P option will be shown during the temp.boot menu which can be launched by pressing F12 key during boot

For all the products supporting ME version 6.xx, Press ThinkVantage Button during POST to get the Ctrl + P option.



Setting up configuring and managing Intel AMT2.5 devices by Small Business mode

1. At the LANDesk System Manager console, open the Configure Services Utility (Start | All Programs | LANDesk | LANDesk Configure Services). Click the Intel AMT Configuration tab. Under Current Intel AMT Credentials, enter the username(admin) and password(iAMT-2.5) you will be using when you set up the new Intel AMT devices in the Intel AMT BIOS. If you want to use a different set of credentials to access the device after setup is complete, enter a username and password under Provision with new Intel AMT Credentials. Click Provision in non-TLS mode, then click OK.
2. On the Intel AMT device, start the ME BIOS (press Ctrl-P as the device boots). This should be near the end of POST. If you have never configured the device, enter the default password "admin". Change the password - this is required. Use "iAMT-2.5" so that everyone share the same password for our test.

The ME password have some rules. [UR-2854]
- 8 characters at least
- includes both of lower case and uppercase
- includes numeric character
- incudes non characters (ike @, # ..)

3. Select Intel(R) ME Configuration | Intel(R) ME Features Control | Manageability Feature Selection and choose Intel(R) AMT.

4. Back to MAIN MENU and select Intel(R) AMT Configuration.

5. If the device has been previously managed or its previous state is unknown, then fully un-provision it.

6. Select Host Name and input a same name as a computer name of Windows.

7. Ensure that Small Business mode is selected as the Provisioning Model (Default Intel AMT setting is Enterprise).

8. Ensure that following is selected as the SOL/IDE-R. Choose the Save and Exit option in the AMT BIOS.
- Username & Password ENABLED
- Serial Over LAN ENABLED
- IDE Redirection ENABLED

9. Open the LDMS console (Start | All Programs | LANDesk | LANDesk Management Suite 8) and select Tools | Configuration | Unmanaged Device Discovery. Click Scan Network button, then check Network Scan, IP FingerPrint and Intel AMT 1.0 check box in Scanner Configuration window. Enter IP address of the AMT device in Starting IP and Ending IP, then input 255.255.255.0 as Subnet Mask. Click Add button, and Scan Now button.


10. After a scan, the AMT device is listed in Unmanaged | Intel AMT group. Right-click the AMT device and select Move to Inventory Detabase.


Installing agents on the device using LANDesk 8.7

11. Open the LANDesk Management Suite console (Start | All Programs | LANDesk | LANDesk Management Suite 8) and select Tools | Configutation | Agent configuration, Click New button of Agent configuration and select System Manager. Check Install monitoring and type a name in Configuration name field, click Save. Right-click the agent and select Set as default.

12. At the Intel AMT device, map a drive to the core server and attach to the ldlogon share. Run wscfg32.exe to install the LSM and LDMS agents. Make sure Monitoring is selected in the agent configuration, then click Install.


Installing agents on the device using LANDesk 8.8 [UR-1912]

Step 1:Create an agent configuration
  1. Open the LANDesk Management Suite console, click Tools | Configuration | Agent configuration.
  2. Click the New toolbar button.
  3. Enter a Configuration name.
  4. Select Alerting. Click Add. Add all rulesets and click OK.
  5. Select Agent watcher. Click Use the Agent Watcher checkbox on. Click Configure. Click New. Click all the checkboxes. Set Interval to check 31 seconds. Then click OK. Click Use selected.
  6. Select System Manager. Click Install monitoring.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Right click on the created agent and select Set as default.

Step 1:Locate the wscfg32.exe
  1. From the client machine, locate and run %server%\LDLOGONWSCFG32.EXE.
  2. On the Agent Configuration Utility window, confirm the monitoring component is turned on, then click Install.


13. At the LANDesk Management Suite console, select Network View | LDMS-SERVERNAME | Devices | All devices and verify the AMT device is listed.
NOTE: If Type of the AMT system is Intel AMT PC, click Start | All Programs | LANDesk Management | Inventory Scan on your AMT device.


Procedure to Uninstall agent in client machine:

Locate the UninstallWinclient.exe
  1. From the client machine, locate and run %server%\LDMAINUninstallWinclient.exe


Wireless setup for AMT client machine [UR-19200

1. Configure an Access Point with the following rules and connect it to the LANDesk network by adding Static IP

Supported encryption: WPA-PSK and TKIP/CKIP
When you set wireless security, the pass phrase must meet following rule.
PassPhrase 8 to 63-character passphrase.
Contains 7-bit ASCII characters, in the range of 32-126, excluding ?:?, ?,? and ??? characters.

Limitations:

Passphrase Complexity: Passphrase must include:

a. At least one Digit character ("0", "1",?"9")

b. At least one 7-bit ASCII non alpha-numeric character, above 0x20, (e.g. "!", "$", ";"). Note that ?_? is considered alphanumeric.

c. Both lower-case Latin ("a", "b",?,"z") and upper case Latin ("A", "B",?"Z").


2. AMT client machine setup

Supported card: Kedron
Make sure latest EPROM and latest driver has ben updated for Kedron WL card

3. Wireless setting configuration for AMT client


Need to set the wireless setting of AMT client in wired condition thro webUI using the following URL
http://<machine>:16992 in small business mode
username: admin
password: AMT client password


Make sure Wireless management is enabled
Configure the wireless settings by creating a new profile with SSID, encryption and passphrase as configured in Access point
Save the settings and close the window

Disconnect the wired connection with the AMT client machine

4. Wireless connectivity from client

Create/apply wireless profile with SSID, encryption and passphrase as configured in Access point through windows Zero configuration

Run the inventory in both client and in server. IP address of the client machine will change in server

The AMT client wireless configuration is successfull





Change the Intel AMT credentials for one device

1. Open the LSM console (Start | All Programs | LANDesk | LANDesk System Manager). Double-click that AMT device in the My devices page, then click Hardware configuration | AMT | Provisioning | Configuration.

Change the Intel AMT credentials for multiple device
2. Open the LSM console (Start | All Programs | LANDesk | LANDesk System Manager) and click Hardware configuration | AMT | Provisioning | Configuration.


NOTE: 1. You can target all of the Intel AMT devices you want updated and set a new username and password for them. When you do this, the credentials are changed in both the database and on the Intel AMT devices.
2. Remember that only the Intel AMT credentials have a programmatic method to change them, but the ME credentials do not. The only way to change the ME credentials is by entering the ME BIOS on each device. If the ME credentials are forgotten, the only way to enter the ME or AMT BIOS again is to reflash the BIOS and firmware.

Blank Password Test (Using LDMS)
1. In LDMS server Manager, configure the AMT machine for no password. (Blank password configuration is not accepted)

AMT - Change the Intel AMT credentials from WebUI

1. Configure the AMT in target system and connect it to a network.
2. From another system in the network, type in http://<machine IP>:16992 in Internet explorer to access AMT WebUI.
3. When prompted, enter username and password ( admin:iAMT-6.0)
4. Click on User Account -> Change Admin..


5. Enter new User name and Password and click on Submit. Make sure the password entered fulfilsl the minimum requirements.



The ME password have some rules.

6. Internet explorer will immediately prompt for the new Username and password. Enter the new username and password and make sure login is successful.
