Objective:To verify the Access Connection SMS GUI verification and SMS function test

ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

    3. Verfiy that the correct SMS GUI buttons and descriptions are shown.

    6.Verify all the shortcut keys are working as expected
    and make sure Compose, Received, Sent, Phonebook, Reply, Forward, Delete, Close launches corresponding window accordingly.
    • No error message should be displayed
    • Verify that the all the options in AC-SMS message box GUI is visible or not hidden or partially hidden.
    • Verify that the sender ,message and date/time information shown in the AC-SMS message box GUI properly.

    5. Confirm 'Reply' window launches.
    6. Confirm 'Send to' already have the number or name of the sender and cannot be edited.
    7. Confirm sender's message is displayed and cannot be edited.
    8. To reply on message confirm the 'Message pane ' is available .
    9. Confirm the 'Send' and 'Cancel' buttons are visible and not hidden or partially hidden.

    Forward View

    1. Launch SMS from Access Connection.
    2. Make sure AC-SMS message Box window launches.
    3. Select any item/message in Received or Sent tab window.
    4. Click Forward Button
    5. Confirm 'Forward' window launches.
    6. Confirm 'Send to' field option available to enter the sender contact .
    7. Confirm 'Phonebook' is available to select the list of contact presaved.
    8. Confirm that the 'Message pane' is populated with the selected message from the Received or Send tab.
    8. To compose message confirm the 'Message pane ' is available.
    9. Confirm the 'Send' and 'Cancel' buttons are visible and not hidden or partially hidden.

    • No error message shall appear.
    • Verify that all the information are shown correctly.

    [F1] -->> At the AC -SMS GUI, press F1 key, the ThinkVantage Access Connections Help should be display with AC-SMS help information


    [Esc] -->> At the AC -SMS GUI, press Esc key, the Windows under ThinkVantage Access Connections should close.


    [Tab] -->> Open any windows under ThinkVantage Access Connections SMS GUI then press Tab Key on the keyboard, Correct Tab sequence in all GUI components should be seen.


    [Delete] -->> At the AC SMS GUI menu bar, click on 'Messages' > Select a received or sent message from the list and click on the [Delete] key, the Chosen message should be deleted.
    • No error message should be displayed.
    • Verify that all the Keyboard Key Functions are working as expected.

    Navigating AC-SMS using the Keyboard Verificaton
    1. Launch Access Connections from the task tray or "Start menu -> Programs -> ThinkVantage -> Access Connections->Advanced tools->Click SMS

    2. Make sure AC-SMS message box window launches.

    3. Navigate and verfiy the functionality of Access Connections-SMS by using the keyboard instead of the mouse.

    - Perform Compose/Reply/Forward/Delete
    -To check Received/Sent messages perform Received ,Sent buttons through shortcut key in the keyboard.

    - Navigating between Access Connections-SMS menu (use the Arrow, Enter, Spacebar, Backspace, Alt, Tab keys for navigation)

    4. Verify that no anomalies occur while using the keyboard to navigate Access Connections.

    • Verify that all the keyboard functions are working as expected while navigating Access Connections SMS GUI.

    AC-SMS Compose Function Verification:
    1. Launch AC SMS message box window from AC advanced tools.
    2. Make sure AC-SMS message box window launches

    3. Click Compose/and confirm that the 'New message' window launches with "(enter phone number)" message displayed in the combo box by default.
    Phone number not in Phonebook (UR-03029AP)
    4. Enter the phone number and the combo box should accept.
    5. Enter the message in the message field and click 'Send'
    6. Make sure the confirmation AC SMS warning appears with the following message " Message sent successfully" and click OK to close.


    7. Make sure SMS window appear with the following message."Do you want to save this number in the Phonebook?"

    8. If Click Yes, Add Entry window appears. If click No, window will close.

    Contact already in Phonebook.
    4. Enter the contact name/phone number in combo box or click Phonebook button.

    5. If Click Phonebook button. Make sure that Phonebook window appears. Select contact then click close.

    1. Launch AC SMS message box window from AC advanced tools.

    2. Make sure AC-SMS message box window launches

    3. Click Compose/forward and confirm that the 'New message' window launches with "(enter phone number)" message displayed in the combo box by default.

    4. Enter the phone number and the combo box should accept .

    5. Try to enter more than one phone number(Recepient) in the Enter phone number field and confirm that multiple Recepient input is not allowed.

    AC-SMS Reply Function Verification:1. When we receive any SMS we get the arrival notification.Click on the 'Click here to view and reply' link
    2. Confirm that a message box appears with senders mobile number or nick name in the title bar and message in the message pane.
    3. Make sure 'Reply' and 'Forward' buttons are displayed and available.
    4. Click 'Reply' button
    5. 'Reply' window launches and the contact name should be displayed (populated) by default.


    6. Enter the message and click 'Send'

    7.Make sure the confirmation AC SMS warning window appears with the following message "Message sent successfully" and click OK to close.

    1. Launch AC SMS message box window from AC advanced tools.

    2. Make sure AC-SMS message box window launches
    3. Select any item/message in Received or Sent tab window.
    4. Click 'Forward' button and confirm that the 'Forward' window launches with "(enter phone number)" message displayed in the combo box by default.


    5. Enter the phone number and the combo box should accept .

    6. Enter the message in the message field and click 'Send'
    7. Make sure the confirmation AC SMS warning appears with the following message " Message sent successfully" and click OK to close.

    1. Select any existing Received messages or Sent message in the 'In box 'message pane'
    2. Click 'Delete' button or press 'Delete' in the keyboard in AC-SMS GUI.
    3. Make sure the following message appears 'Are you sure you want to delete'?
    4. Click 'Yes' to delete and 'No' to cancel the delete operation.

    5. Confirm that contact has been deleted.
    • Confirm whether you are able to delete the existing contact in the Phone book contact list pane.

    1. Select any existing contact list in the "Phonebook contact list pane"

    2. Click 'Edit' button and make sure the 'Modify Entry' window appears
    3. Make sure edit and modify the existing contact works properly.
    • Confirm whether you are able to edit and modify the existing contact in the Phone book contact list pane.

    Limits of contacts add in phone book verification:
    1. Try to add as many contacts in the phone book .

    2. Make sure there is no error message or warning message appears while adding more number of contacts in the phonebook.

    There is no restriction to add number of contacts in the AC SMS phonebook.

    Length of the Name in the phone book verification:
    1. Launch AC SMS message box from AC advanced tools.

    2. Make sure AC-SMS message box window launches
    3. Click on Phonebook to launch Phonebook interface
    4. Click 'New' button->Make sure 'Add entry' window launches with the following message 'Enter contact name and phone number'
    4.Enter the 'Contact Name' and enter more than 52 characters in the contact name field and make sure that it should not allow to enter more than 52 characters in the contact name field.


    Note:
    Phonebook entry allowed character limit of:
    - Contact Name (52 characters)
    - Phone Number (20 characters)
    • Make sure the length of the contact name entered should not exceed 52 characters .

    Multiple deletion of messages and phonebook verification:
    1.Launch AC->Advanced tools->SMS and make sure AC-SMS message box window launches.

    2.Click on Received button and make sure all the received messages are listed in the received message pane.

    3.Try to select multiple messages and click delete or press delete key in the keyboard.

    4.Confirm that multiple messages are deleted successfully.

    5.Confirm that deleted multiple messages are not shown anywhere in the AC-SMS .

    6.Click on Sent button and make sure all the sent messages are listed in the sent message pane.

    7.Try to select multiple messages and click delete or press delete key in the keyboard.

    8.Confirm that multiple messages are deleted successfully.

    9.Confirm that deleted multiple messages are not shown anywhere in the AC-SMS.

    10. Click Phonebook link
    11. Select two or more existing Contact list in the 'Phonebook contact list pane'
    12. Click 'Delete' button
    13. Make sure the following message appears 'Are you sure you want to delete'?
    14. Click 'Yes' to delete and 'No' to cancel the delete operation.

    15. Confirm that multiple contacts selected has been deleted.
    • Make sure the Multiple messages can be deleted in received and sent message pane .

    AC-SMS Received and Sent with uninstall and install AC:
    1. Launch AC-SMS and make sure you have some received and sent messages in the message box pane.

    2. Uninstall the Access connection from the add/remove programs or Program and features
    3. In XP, select option "Uninstall ThinkVantage Access Connections, location profiles and SMS messages/phone".
    4. In Win-7, a windows will prompt "Do you want to remove all the Access Connections profiles and SMS message/phone book?". Click "No".
    5. In Windows 7, a window will prompt "Do you want to keep the Access Connections profiles and SMS message/phone book?". Click "Yes".
    6. Confirm to proceed uninstallation
    7. Reinstall the Access connection and reboot the system.
    8. Launch AC-SMS UI and make sure no messages are displayed in received and sent message pane.

    9. Click Phonebook link and confirm no contact name and phone number has been presaved.
    • Confirm that there is no messages are displayed in received and sent message pane in AC-SMS UI if uninstall and reinstall the Access connections.
    • Confirm that there is no contacts are displayed in phonebook if uninstall and reinstall the Access connections.

    Failed sent SMS verification:
    1. Launch AC->Advanced tools->SMS and make sure AC-SMS message box window launches.

    2. Click on Compose/Forward button and make sure 'New Message' windows launches.

    3. Enter the invalid phone number into phone number field and enter messages into the message pane ->Click OK
    4. Confirm failed sent message window popups. Click OK.
