DETAILS
ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

MEBx Configuration

1. On the Intel AMT device, start the ME BIOS (press Ctrl-P at the device boot). Enter default password ‘admin’ and change the MEBx password to ‘iAMT-8.0’
2. Select Intel(R) AMT Configuration -> Manageability Feature Selection and choose Enabled.
3. If the device has been previously managed or its previous state is unknown, then fully un-provision it by selecting Unconfigure Network Access -> Full Unprovision
4. Select Network Setup -> Intel(R) ME Network Name Settings -> Host Name and input a same name as a computer OS host name.
5. Make sure in TCP/IP Settings -> Wired LAN IPV4 Configuration -> DHCP Mode is Enabled
6. Make sure in Intel AMT Configuration -> SOL/IDER/KVM, KVM is Enabled.
6.Connect the system to a network, and select Activate Network Access.
7.Exit MEBx and boot to the system
  • Confirm that all the settings are saved properly

Management Console System 1. Copy the KVM application package to the desktop
2. Run the "KVMControlApplication" from the package, KVM Console GUI appears
3. Check " Edit Machine Settings", Key the AMT client IP Address e.g 192.168.11.23.
4. Key the Username as "admin" and Password as "iAMT-8.0"
(AMT client MEBX Username / Password)
5. Click "Machine Settings" in KVM Console GUI, " Remote Machine Details GUI" appears
6. Set the KVM Status to "Enabled - redirection ports"
7. Key the RFB Password as "iAMT-8.0", click OK to close the GUI
8. In the KVM Console, check " Start KVM Session on Redirection Ports" and click "Start Session"
9. Passcode prompt in Remote session appears in Mgmt Console system (Passcode will be generated in Client system)

  • Confirm that all options should be available
Remote System (Client system)1. Passcode prompt appears in Client system. Passcode generated in Client System should be entered in Management Console System.
2. Right click and open intel management and security status in tasktray to launch Intel AMT window.
3. From Intel AMT tab, confirm that remote control connection is connected.
4. Make sure Intel ME is configured in advanced tab.
5. The following options should be configured in Network Information:
- Wired Connection
- Wireless Connection

  • No error message should appear when passcode is entered
  • Correct and complete information should be displayed.
  • Confirm that ME version is correct
  • All configuration is shown in summary information.

Management Console System using KVM connection1. Start Session to remote Client's system using KVM connection
2. Control Client's system using KVM application
3. Verify that keyboard and mouse redirected from Management Console System to Remote System
4. Connect/Disconnect remote session without any error message appears.
5. Restart/Reset Client's system using KVM application. Verify that both management console and remote system are working in real-time operation.
6. During Post screen, press F1 to enter BIOS setup. Confirm that BIOS setup in remote system should be controlled from Management Console System.
7. Shutdown the remote system and power up using KVM application in Management Console System.
  • Confirm successful connection
  • Make sure connection is established successfully
  • Make sure no hang up or BSOD during operation

Note:
If connected through wireless session, make sure to enable "Limit wireless traffic to out-of-band only. The KVM session will continue uninterrupted.No Host traffic will be available" option in wireless session configuration.

KVM - Wired Connection Verification: [UR-2740]

1. Connect to ethernet.
2. Start Session to remote Client's system using KVM connection
3. Control Client's system using KVM application
4. Goto Start -> Programs -> Intel -> Intel Control Center -> Intel Management and Security Status
5. Click on Advanced tab and select Network Information
6. Under Wired Connection -> Link Status confirm that the status is "Link Up".
7. Disconnect from the ethernet profile and remove the ethernet cable
8. Confirm that the connection is lost and the message "Connection to remote machine stopped" appears in the Management Console System.
9. Confirm that the Link Status is now changed to "Link Down" in the Client System.
10. Connect the Ethernet cable again and check for the Link Status. Click on start on the KVM application and confirm that the session is started again.
  • The link status must be changed after disconnecting the ethernet cable.
  • confirm that correct information is there in MAC Information and the IP Information.

KVM - Wireless Connection Verification:
1. Connect to the same wireless profile which was added in the AMT WebGUI
2. Start Session to remote Client's system using KVM connection.
3. Control Client's system using KVM application.
4. Goto Start -> Programs -> Intel -> Intel Control Center -> Intel Management and Security Status
5. Click on Advanced tab and select Network Information
6. Under Wireless Connection -> Link Status confirm that the status is "Link Up".
7. Disconnect from the Wireless profile.
8. Confirm that the connection is lost and the message "Connection to remote machine stopped" appears in the Management Console System.
9. Confirm that the Link Status is now changed to "Link Down" in the Client System.
10. Connect the Wireless profile again and check for the Link Status. Click on start on the KVM application and confirm that the session is started again.
  • The link status must be changed after disconnecting the Wireless profile.
  • confirm that correct information is there in 'MAC Information' and the 'IP Information'.

2. In KVM menu list, click on 'Options' and confirm if below items and their sub-items are available:

Wireless Session Configuration
- Allow both in-band and out-of-band wireless traffic. (Default Setting) when the host will reboot, the KVM session might be disconnected.
- Limit wireless traffic to out-of-band only. The KVM session will continue uninterrupted. No Host traffic will be available.

4. In KVM Menu lists, click on to 'Information'. Check the availability of the following:

  • All information should be displayed in each menu lists.
  • Correct and complete information should be displayed.
  • All options should work properly
  • All functions under Wireless configuration options should be working properly

- Wireless option will be enabled for wireless session

KVM verification in Intel Management and Security Status

1. Launch Intel Management & Security Status window by double clicking Intel Management & Security Status Task Tray icon.
2. Click Intel AMT tab.
3. Confirm that the following options are available and display
correct information:
(i) Fast Call for help Connected/Disconnected
(ii) Support session status

Click on the Change button to choose a different hot key for terminating an open KVM Remote control session

Media Redirection
Indicates whether there are any open IDE redirection sessions. Possible values: Connected/ Disconnected/ Information unavailable

Terminal/Keyboard Redirection

Management Console System 1. Copy the KVM application package to the desktop
2. Run the "KVMControlApplication" from the package, KVM Console GUI appears
3. Check " Edit Machine Settings", Key the AMT client IP Address e.g 192.168.11.23.
4. Key the Username as "admin" and Password as "iAMT-8.0"
(AMT client MEBX Username / Password)
5. Click "Machine Settings" in KVM Console GUI, " Remote Machine Details GUI" appears
6. Set the KVM Status to "Enabled - redirection ports"
7. Key the RFB Password as "iAMT-8.0", click OK to close the GUI
8. In the KVM Console, check " Start KVM Session on Redirection Ports" and click "Start Session"
9. Passcode prompt in Remote session appears in Mgmt Console system (Passcode will be generated in Client system)

  • Confirm that all options should be available
Remote System (Client system)1. Passcode prompt appears in Client system. Passcode generated in Client System should be entered in Management Console System.
2. Right click and open intel management and security status in tasktray to launch Intel AMT window.
3. From Intel AMT tab, confirm that remote control connection is connected.
4. Make sure Intel ME is configured in advanced tab.
5. The following options should be configured in Network Information:
- Wired Connection
- Wireless Connection

Management Console System using KVM connection1. Start Session to remote Client's system using KVM connection
2. Control Client's system using KVM application
3. Verify that keyboard and mouse redirected from Management Console System to Remote System
4. Connect/Disconnect remote session without any error message appears.
5. Restart/Reset Client's system using KVM application. Verify that both management console and remote system are working in real-time operation.
6. During Post screen, press F1 to enter BIOS setup. Confirm that BIOS setup in remote system should be controlled from Management Console System.
7. Shutdown the remote system and power up using KVM application in Management Console System.
  • Confirm successful connection
  • Make sure connection is established successfully
  • Make sure no hang up or BSOD during operation

Note:
If connected through wireless session, make sure to enable "Limit wireless traffic to out-of-band only. The KVM session will continue uninterrupted.No Host traffic will be available" option in wireless session configuration.

KVM - Wired Connection Verification: [UR-2740]

1. Connect to ethernet.
2. Start Session to remote Client's system using KVM connection
3. Control Client's system using KVM application
4. Goto Start -> Programs -> Intel -> Intel Control Center -> Intel Management and Security Status
5. Click on Advanced tab and select Network Information
6. Under Wired Connection -> Link Status confirm that the status is "Link Up".
7. Disconnect from the ethernet profile and remove the ethernet cable
8. Confirm that the connection is lost and the message "Connection to remote machine stopped" appears in the Management Console System.
9. Confirm that the Link Status is now changed to "Link Down" in the Client System.
10. Connect the Ethernet cable again and check for the Link Status. Click on start on the KVM application and confirm that the session is started again.
  • The link status must be changed after disconnecting the ethernet cable.
  • confirm that correct information is there in MAC Information and the IP Information.

KVM - Wireless Connection Verification:
1. Connect to the same wireless profile which was added in the AMT WebGUI
2. Start Session to remote Client's system using KVM connection.
3. Control Client's system using KVM application.
4. Goto Start -> Programs -> Intel -> Intel Control Center -> Intel Management and Security Status
5. Click on Advanced tab and select Network Information
6. Under Wireless Connection -> Link Status confirm that the status is "Link Up".
7. Disconnect from the Wireless profile.

3. In KVM Menu lists, click on to 'Wireless' and then Verify if the following items are available:
Wireless Session Configuration
- Allow both in-band and out-of-band wireless traffic. (Default Setting) when the host will reboot, the KVM session might be disconnected.
- Limit wireless traffic to out-of-band only. The KVM session will continue uninterrupted. No Host traffic will be available.

4. In KVM Menu lists, click on to 'Information'. Check the availability of the following:

  • All information should be displayed in each menu lists.
  • Correct and complete information should be displayed.
  • All options should work properly
  • All functions under Wireless configuration options should be working properly

- Wireless option will be enabled for wireless session

KVM verification in Intel Management and Security Status

1. Launch Intel Management & Security Status window by double clicking Intel Management & Security Status Task Tray icon.
2. Click Intel AMT tab.
3. Confirm that the following options are available and display
correct information:

Indicates what is the hot key used to close an open KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) Remote Control session (default is Shift+Esc).
Click on the Change button to choose a different hot key for terminating an open KVM Remote control session

Media Redirection
Indicates whether there are any open IDE redirection sessions. Possible values: Connected/ Disconnected/ Information unavailable

Terminal/Keyboard Redirection
Indicates whether there are any open terminal/keyboard redirection sessions. Possible values: Connected/ Disconnected/ Information unavailable.
