ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.


(Applicable to Chief River Products only.. BIOS support is needed).
Note :
For iSCT to work, following are mandatory.

- iSCT supported BIOS for each product
- iSCT supported driver for the adapters.
- iSCT supported Power Manager.
- iSCT is supported only on Window-7 and no support for Win XP. However, need to install iSCT driver in Win XP to avoid yellow mark in DM.

(Applicable to Sharkbay Products only.. BIOS support is needed).
Note :
For iSCT to work, following are mandatory.

- iSCT supported BIOS for each product
- iSCT supported driver for the adapters.
- iSCT supported Power Manager.
- iSCT is supported only on Window-7 & Window-8 OS.
- Remote Wake feature needs Intel? ME Firmware enabled.

POINTS TO REMEMBER BEFORE START TESTING:

- Install Debug View utility (Dbgview.exe can be downloaded via web) to enable logs during S3 mode.
- LoggingEnabled must be set to value = 4 in registry for Debug View output.

1. When iSCT is enabled, 30 days standby is disabled in Power Manager.
2. NetDetect will not work if Airplane Mode is OFF.
3. No NetDetect with WWAN.
4. Wireless LED is ON during S3.
5. MS Outlook and Windows Live Mail should be changed the send/receive interval time to 1 minute. This will serve as Help Center Info.

6. For iSCT version 4.0.20.1845 minimum value for update slider is 15 minutes and maximum value is 60 minutes.

8. Mail update works only with Office 2010 or above.

9. Due to ISCT spec had define ISCT-S0 default only 45 sec, if your mail attachment is too large, it will not download on ISCT-S0 mode.
If 24 MB needs 10 min to download, it can?t wait to finish the download of whole attachment. [UR-4039]

    Mail Update using ISCT Wake Timer (Periodic Wake)
    Power Management in AC Mode

    1. Ensure that Intel adapter is installed and configured properly.
    2. Install latest version of ISCT driver.
    3. In ISCT GUI, Basic Tab > click Enable Updating button.
    4. Drag the slider widget on how many minutes the machine will update during S3.
    5. Go to Advanced tab > set the Start Time and End Time.
    6. This sleep time is based on battery level and thermal condition, as well as how long the machine is in the S0-ISCT mode.

    7. Connect to access point.
    8. Browse to the Internet and login to Email - (eg. MS Outlook/Windows Live Mail)
    In Email software, set e-mail check cycle to 1 minute. (Less than set in step 4.)
    8-1. Confirm Email software can receive email automatically in every minutes set in step 8.

    9. Make sure not to close the websites/email.
    10. Suspend the system.
    11. While the system is in suspend mode, get another machine.

    12. Using other machine connected, browse to the Internet and login to different Email - (eg. MS Outlook/Windows Live Mail)
    13. Send Email with attachments:

    15. Unplug AC adapter and confirm system will not wake up.
    16. Confirm that the system will enter S0-iSCT mode after the minutes set in Step 4.
    17. Confirm that the system will be pinged successfully while in S0-iSCT mode.
    18. System will enter to S3 in about 10-180 seconds.
    18-2. Resume system by press Fn.
    19. Count by timer how many seconds/minutes will it take to connect to the internet.

    2. Install latest version of ISCT driver. (ISCT driver will check if the WLAN attach is supported by NetDetect during S0-ISCT mode)
    3. In ISCT GUI, Basic Tab > click Enable Updating button.
    3-2. Drag the slider widget on how many minutes the machine will update during S3.
    4. In OS, set the timer by (check both):

    Power Manager:
    Advanced GUI > Po> Idle Timers > Under AC settings > Enter system standby > choose minutes/hours > Apply then OK.

    OS Native (Uninstall Power Manager):
    Control Panel > Power Options > Change when the Computer sleeps > Under Plugged In > Put the computer to sleep > choose minutes/hours > Save changes.

    5. Connect to access point.
    6. Browse to the Internet and login to Email - (eg. MS Outlook/Windows Live Mail)
    7. Make sure not to close the websites/email.
    8. Suspend the system.
    8-2. System will wake into S0-iSCT in time set in step 3-2.
    8-3. System will transition to S3 by iSCT agent.

    9. While the system is in suspend mode, unplug system"s AC adapter, and turn OFF AP.
    - Confirm system will not wake after unplugging AC adapter.

    10. Get another machine and connect to another available AP.
    11. Using other machine connected, browse to the Internet and login to different Email - (eg. MS Outlook/Windows Live Mail)
    12. Send Email with attachments:

    16. Confirm that Email was received successfully including the attachment with correct file sizes.
    Confirm the results in In ISCT GUI, Info Tab > click Wake History button.

    3. In ISCT GUI, Basic Tab > click Enable Updating button.
    3-2. Drag the slider widget on how many minutes the machine will update during S3.
    4. In OS, set the timer by (check both):

    Power Manager:
    Advanced GUI > Po> Idle Timers > Under Battery settings > Enter system standby > choose minutes/hours > Apply then OK.

    OS Native (Uninstall Power Manager):

    Power Management in DC Mode

    1. Ensure that Intel adapter with NetDetect support is installed and configured properly
    2. Install latest version of ISCT driver. (ISCT driver will check if the WLAN attach is supported by NetDetect during S0-ISCT mode)
    3. In ISCT GUI, Basic Tab > click Enable Updating button.
    3-2. Drag the slider widget on how many minutes the machine will update during S3.
    4. In OS, set the timer by (check both):

    Power Manager:
    Advanced GUI > Po> Idle Timers > Under Battery settings > Enter system standby > choose minutes/hours > Apply then OK.

    OS Native (Uninstall Power Manager):
    Control Panel > Power Options > Change when the Computer sleeps > Under On battery > Put the computer to sleep > choose minutes/hours > Save changes.

    5. Connect to access point.
    6. Install Sobees, and change auto update time to 1 minute.

    3. Verify no other network connections exist (LAN/WWAN)
    4. From ISCT Configuration utility on the test machine, enable updating every 15 minutes
    5. Turn off AP and after a minute, verify no network connections exist (LAN/WLAN/WWAN)
    6. Manually put system into s3/sleep and after 3-5minutes, unplug system"s AC adapter.
