ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

2.'Use VPN application' missing in Location Awareness
Reference:

Reason:
'Use VPN application' option has been removed as supported function,the user needs to create VPN connections in Control Panel first.

3.Home page set in Location Awareness not reflecting in browser
Reference:
ECR128741: Win8:Homepage settings in Loc Awareness not reflected in browser
Reason:
The location profiles created will be applied on the next time the user connects to those profiles' Wi-Fi'.

4. Ethernet support will only be available on Sharkbay platforms. start from Lenovo Settings Dependency Package version 1.1.1.7. (Chief River and Sharkbay support)

5. ECR185327: Com_W8.1:Cannot Disable File Sharing and Firewall together in LA
If you enable Disable FPS by Control Panel-> Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center->Advanced sharing settings, Windows Firewall will be enabled automatically.



Installation and GUI Verification

Installation

1. Install Latest Lenovo Settings Dependency Package & Lenovo settings as per the build letter.
2. Reboot machine if prompted.
3. After machine reboot, perform the following test items.

Note: New GUI has been changed for Lenovo Settings in Win8.1 only.




- Confirm that there are no errors in the network device, running successfully.
- Confirm that there are no installation issues

GUI Verification

1. Back button should be available in upper left corner of Location Awareness GUI and should function properly.
2. Location Awareness section title and product icon should show in the upper right corner of the GUI.
3. Graphic Element should show correct grammar and correct message as this:

"Have your settings automatically update depending on your location. Connect to a Wi-Fi source that you visit often like home, work or a coffee shop. Then you can set up and save customized settings for each location."

4. Locations
4.1 The following options / widgets should be available:
a.) Current connection textbox
b.) Add button
c.) Location Data Table
d.) Delete button

5. Customize
5.1 The following options / widgets should be available:
a.) SSID / Ethernet (Gateway MAC address)
b.) Set home page textbox
c.) Set default printer textbox

6. VPN
6.1 The following options / widgets should be available:
a.) VPN dropdown with options:
(1) Off
(2) Use Windows VPN settings --> option displayed only if VPN is setup
b.) VPN application dropdown with browse button --> to choose 3rd party VPN apps
c.) Dropdown list of VPN setup.

7. Security Settings
7.1 The following options / widgets should be available:
a.) Override security settings On/Off switch
b.) Enable file and printer sharing check box --> if checked, file and printer sharing should work properly
c.) Enable internet connection sharing --> if checked, ICS should work properly
d.) Enable Windows firewall --> if checked, firewall should be enabled in Windows
e.) Disconnect Wi-Fi connection when Ethernet is connected --> if checked, WLAN profile should be disconnected if LAN cable was attached to the system.

Notes:
1. After performing the above items, go to one place where access point with internet connection is available and connect the machine.
2. Run the test items below (Location Awareness Configuration and Verification).
3. After performing all, go to another place and connect another available access point with internet connection.
4. Run the test items below again.
- Confirm that options / widgets are available and functioning properly without any problems.

Location Awareness Configuration and Verification

1. Launch Lenovo Settings from Start GUI
2. Click Lenovo Awareness
3. The connected wlan profile will automatically shown in "Current connection" text box.

without VPN:

a) SSID / Ethernet (Gateway MAC address) --> Automatically show without user input
b) Set homepage
c) Set default printer
5. Click Add button (this button will be disabled if already added to data table).
6. The profile name created will be listed in the Location Data table.
7. Browse to the internet.

with VPN:
8. Input the following to setup save point under Customize portion.
a) SSID / Ethernet (Gateway MAC address) --> Automatically show without user input
b) Set homepage

9. Choose the following to setup VPN, under VPN portion.
a) VPN
- First dropdown box: Use Windows VPN settings
(Configure in Desktop > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Setup a
new connection or network > Connect to a workplace)
Second dropdown box: Choose the configured VPN in desktop
- If any third party VPN apps available you may use it and inform MMC Team to update test case.10. Click Add button (this button will be disabled if already added to data table).
11. The profile name created will be listed in the Location Data table.
12. Browse to the internet and to the VPN connection (eg. Office network, etc.)

13. When another profile was already created, go back to the location save point (location added in table)
14. Machine should connect again to the saved profile in Location Awareness.

Note:
- Verify also the above items with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet scenario
- If both Wi-Fi and Ethernet is connected, Wi-Fi SSID will be shown in SSID / Ethernet (Gateway MAC address)
- Confirm that Location Awareness application is working properly after installation
- Confirm that no garbage, unnecessary texts (cut, not fit in text boxes, too small, etc.), buttons and links (if any) are working.
- Confirm that location and profile name lists correctly in the table.
- Confirm that connectivity and VPN is successful before and after going back to the saved point.

Checking the Current Connections [UR-03500AP]

1.Connect Ethernet Cable to the Ethernet Port and connect also to a Wireless AP
2.Install latest Dependency Package/Location awareness driver
3.Install latest Lenovo Settings
4.Launch Lenovo Settings on Metro App View
5.Select Lenovo Location Awareness
6.Confirm that the Connected WLAN profile should be shown.


Referece: ECR127722 W8:Location awareness detects ethernet as current connection
-Confirm that the currenty connected WLAN profile is displayed on the current connection.
-No ethernet or WWAN profile should be displayed.

Checking the Homepage Settings

1.Connect to a wireless AP.
2.On Metro App view open lenovo settings and select location awareness.
3.Create a profile and enter a preferred homepage.
4.Restart the system.
5.Connect to previously created AP and Open a browser (Firefox or Chrome)
6.Confirm that your preferred homepage settings is applied.


Reference: ECR128378 W8:Homepage settings is not applicable with Firefox and Chrome
-Confirm that the homepage settings is applied upon opening the browser.(IE and Firefox)
-For google chrome click the homepage button before it will redirect you on your preferred homeage.(As designed)

Power Management Verification

3. Resume machine.

1. While the Location Awareness machine reboots.

4. Machine should connect to the saved profile in Location Awareness.

System Shutdown
1. Shutdown the Location Awareness machine.
2. Go to the other location where save point was made.
3. Boot machine and after boot.
4. Machine should connect to the saved profile in Location Awareness.

Perform each PM operations for 5-10 trials
- Confirm that connection is established successfully after PM operations.
- Confirm that all functions (buttons, links, etc.) can be performed successfully after PM operations.
- Confirm that no error messages should show after PM operations.

Suspend / Resume

3.1 Right click My Computer > Manage > Event Viewer
3.2 Confirm that there are NO Critical / Error / Warning messages for Location Awareness Service.
4. Go to Problem Reports:
4.1 Go to Control Panel then type Problem Reports in "Search Control Panel" textbox
4.2 Open "View all problem reports"
4.3 Confirm that there are NO crash / stopped working messages for Location Awareness Service.
4. Machine should connect to the saved profile in Location Awareness.
