ATTENTION!! Please follow below information.
1. Please check Error and Warning message in Event Viewer before you start the test case and after you complete the test case, and report it to your team lead, then arrange to open defect, if needed.

2. Perform All Test in Battery Mode (Some of the test items need to perform in AC Mode, follow each Test Case).

3. All Test Activity should be performed with AMT Enabled as Default (applicable on vPro enabled systems).

4. Please check Usability / Cosmetic issues (correct sentence/appropriate display/etc.) and open defect, if needed.

Test to be performed in Admin mode and User Mode

Basic Network functions

802.11 a Mode

TCP/IP

1. Configure TCP/IP (Static IP address) only.

2. Ping to server with 2048 bytes.

3. Download files using ftp.

4. Configure TCP/IP (DHCP) only.

5. Download files using ftp (>300MB files).

6. Configure Internet Explorer 5 (or latest)

7. Download files from the internet

8. Map shared network directory and copy files.

9. Configure TCP/IP.

10. Using FTP download files of >300 MB.

11. Using shared directory copy files of > 300 MB

802.11 b Mode

TCP/IP

1. Configure TCP/IP (Static IP address) only

2. Ping to server with 2048 bytes

3. Download files using ftp

4. Configure TCP/IP (DHCP) only

Next Button is greyed out when click another AP when connecting to a Hidden network.

Reason: Approved as permanent Limitation

For Files download test with PM, NetworkReliability.zip ATS Script can also be used. Download from ATSadmincosole for latest updated scripts.

Adhoc profile shows connected after the client is disconnected with Non-intel WLAN cards

Note :

Wireless Radio must retain the status that was available before PM event or system restart.

ie. If Radio ON before Suspend, On resuming from suspend it should be still ON

If Radio OFF before Suspend, on resuming from suspend it should be still OFF.

Power Management TestEach item to be tested for 10 trials.

Power Management in AC Mode

1. Configure TCP/IP (Static IP)

2. Browse the network for confirmation

3. Enter into suspend

4. Resume after one minute

5. Download files from the network

6. Enter into Hibernation

7. Resume after one minute

8. Download files from the network

Power Management in DC mode

1. Configure TCP/IP (DHCP)

2. Browse the network for confirmation

3. Enter into suspend

4. Resume after one minute

5. Download files from the network

6. Enter into Hibernation

7. Resume after one minute

8. Download files from the network

Power Management by LID close

1. Connect to network through access point

2. Perform suspend by LID close

3. Resume from suspend, and check function

4. CRITERIA: "Ping" to default GW works

5. Repeat steps 2 - 3 for 5 times

Power Management by Timer

1. Connect to network through access point

2. Perform suspend by timer (set for 2 minutes)

3. Resume from suspend

4. Confirm the functionality of the wireless adapter

5. Perform Hibernation by timer (set for 2 minutes)

6. Resume from Hibernation

7. Confirm the functionality of the wireless adapter

Suspend with Radio ON/OFF

1. Connect to network through access point

2. Ensure that Radio is ON

3. Perform suspend (Fn+F4)

4. Resume from suspend

5. Confirm the functionality of the wireless adapter

6. Turn WL Radio is OFF

7. Perform suspend (Fn+F4)

8. Resume from suspend

9. Confirm the functionality of the wireless adapter

Hibernate with Radio ON/OFF

1. Connect to network through access point

2. Ensure that Radio is ON

3. Perform Hibernate

4. Resume from hibernation

5. Confirm the functionality of the wireless adapter

6. Turn OFF WL Radio.

7. Perform Hibernate

8. Resume from hibernation

9. Confirm the functionality of the wireless adapter

Performance after S1 state

1. Connect to network through access point

2. Perform S1 and resume.

3. Measure the throughput by downloading files

4. for 1 Mbps for 5 Mbps for 11 Mbps

5. Measure the throughput for both TCP/IP

Performance after S3 state

1. Connect to network through access point

2. Perform S3 and resume.

3. Measure the throughput by downloading files

4. for 1 Mbps for 5 Mbps for 11 Mbps

5. Confirm connectivity successful and adapter works fine

6. Try to download files from the network for confirmation

Long Run after S4 state (Overnight)

1. Configure TCP/IP (DHCP)

2. Browse the network for confirmation / continuous ping

3. Enter into hibernate for at least 8 hours

4. Resume the next day

5. Confirm connectivity successful and adapter works fine

6. Try to download files from the network for confirmation
